On Saturday 18th July the social garden of IB Polska in Nowa Huta hosted once again the group of international volunteers and the kids and families of the local community to spend quality time together in a welcoming environment.
On this occasion, compared to the previous Saturday we had a different approach and conducted different activities and games. During the previous occasion the activities were scheduled in order to complete the passport we created. On the contrary, this time we had 2 main areas in the garden: one dedicated to arts and crafts, and the other to more active games.

In the arts and crafts area we had on one table the activity dedicated to candle decorations. The white candles became the canvas where volunteers and kids could express their artistic side. The results, as it can be observed in the picture, were an explosion of colours and flowers. Every candle turned out unique, giving participants a handmade souvenir to take home.

On the other table the bracelet workshop was going on under the supervision of the Lithuanian volunteer Rugile who patiently explained each step of the process, helping beginners learn the technique. It is something typical for her because these friendship bracelets are very popular when you are a kid in primary school. With only 7 pieces of yarn everyone had the opportunity to do coloured bracelets for themselves and their loved ones.

Meanwhile, the more classical games were going on in the rest of the garden: football and twister with volunteers and kids playing together regardless of their age and the language spoken.
The attendance of many more kids compared to the previous Saturday was a nice turn of events. Also the different approach to the organization of the day shows how even simple activities can bring people together and result in a pleasant moment.
