As I sit down to write this, I find myself reflecting on the whirlwind that was the past 11 months—a journey that began on the 7th of September 2024 and is now gently closing its chapter on the 18th of July 2025.

Over these months, I’ve grown in ways I never anticipated. I’ve worked on meaningful projects, connected with people from different walks of life, and learned the subtle beauty of listening, observing, and being present. I’ve tasted pierogi, gotten lost in Kazimierz’s charm, and found myself mesmerized by the quiet power of the Vistula River at sunset.

My time volunteering taught me that service is never just about giving—it’s about exchange. It’s about community. Whether I was helping in workshops, supporting kids at school, or simply being part of daily routines, I always felt part of something greater.

But beyond the work, it’s the people who made this journey unforgettable. To my hosting organization and my coordinators—thank you for your guidance, patience, and trust. To my flatmates and my roommate—you became my chosen family. We laughed, struggled, explored, and leaned on each other when the days were heavy. To the locals who shared a smile, a story, or a helping hand—thank you for welcoming me with open hearts.

As I say goodbye to this city that has become like a home, I leave with a heart full of gratitude. I’m not the same person who arrived last September. I’m more open, more resilient, and more hopeful. The lessons I’ve learned here will stay with me, not just as memories, but as seeds for everything that comes next.

To anyone considering an ESC journey: take the leap. You won’t regret it.
Dziękuję, Kraków. This isn’t goodbye forever—just see you later.
With love and gratitude.
