Are you ready to meet our new volunteer from Georgia? Today, we want to introduce you Vasil Saghirishvili.

Hello there, my name is Vasil and I am from Georgia. I was a student of Tourism administration in Budapest while the pandemic started. After some time, I had a strong need to relocate and get involved in something more emotionally active. Thanks to my friend I got introduced to this volunteering opportunity in Krakow to work with kids during this time and I got very excited.

It seemed a great opportunity to be part of something meaningful. To be able to commit and have a very positive emotional exchange with kids in the kindergarten. Children express and children give away unconditionally. It provokes you to be welcoming towards them. In the kindergartens, we have various activities for them such as sports, dancing, singing and they absolutely love it! This project gave me a chance to go back to normal. I made one of the best ever decisions coming here, meeting new people in my organization.

Of course, I never knew how lucky I could have been, but as it turned out the people are awesome and the activities we can do, taking into consideration the active pandemic time is absolutely involving and attractive. I like to go hiking, cycling and we found out that Krakow has a lot to offer. Almost every weekend we go out to nature and explore the country with bikes. We also do a lot of camping in the absolutely beautiful nature not far away from the city. In the town itself, there are a lot of things going on which makes being in the city very charming.

Vasil joined us as a participant of the #Intergeneration project under the European Solidarity Corps, which is a funding programme of the European Union that creates opportunities for young people to volunteer, work, train and run their own solidarity projects that benefit communities around Europe.
