Cześć, my name is Laura. I am from Germany and I live in a small city called Mainz, near Frankfurt (about an hour away). In my free time I play guitar, draw, attend a theater school where I dance, act and sing, do creative things such as making my own jewellery or play softball at the Mainz Athletics sports club in Germany. This June I graduated from school and turned 18, which is why I wanted to try something new and leave the country even if it is only a year.

My urge to do something creative and help others and support people led me to IB Polska. Watching
children or people in general learn or experience something new, while I help that happen, reminds me why I want to do volunteering. The smiles and laughter are worth it.

My workplace will be at the IB Polska office in Nowa Huta, the address is osiedle Górali 24. The office gives me many different tasks and experiences working at the desk, while also letting me do creative tasks such as making workshops and interacting with people of all ages.

I chose Poland, and Krakow more specifically because the beauty and structure captivated me.
Furthermore, I love the language and I am excited to learn it in this program. Lastly, I hope to learn
many new things, get to know a lot of new people, learn new hobbies, grow as an individual,
have many amazing experiences and have a great time overall.
