Nine months later, this crazy (yet wonderful) adventure has finally come to an end.
If you had told me a few years ago that I would have spent almost a year of my life in the cold and faraway Poland, I probably wouldn\u2019t have believed you and even though I was welcomed by the toughest winter I have ever experienced, I also lived through some of the warmest months of my life, thanks to the incredible people I had the chance to meet \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First and foremost, my flatmates, with whom I turned a simple house into a home. Four strangers who quickly became some of my closest friends, people I could talk to at any time, about anything. As the saying goes, home is where the heart is and now it feels like my heart will be scattered all across Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Secondly, the other volunteers. What started as relationships between people who simply happened to be in the same place at the same time gradually turned into genuine friendships. Some were the people I saw every day at school, others were my companions for evenings at bars and clubs and others were the friends I shared hot chocolates with while trying to survive the colder months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thirdly, the students and staff at the kindergarten. I won\u2019t lie: some days were definitely more challenging than others. But, even if it took me some time, I eventually found my place there too, between Italian and English lessons, preparing decorations and rehearsing for shows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last but certainly not least, Krak\u00f3w. What was once a foreign and unknown city slowly became a second home. Now, every corner of the city is tied to a memory, to a piece of my life here. Krak\u00f3w, I will always be grateful to you!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
