{"id":2763,"date":"2022-07-19T16:00:00","date_gmt":"2022-07-19T14:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ib-polska.pl\/youth\/?p=2763"},"modified":"2022-07-21T11:08:15","modified_gmt":"2022-07-21T09:08:15","slug":"a-day-at-wawel-castle","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ib-polska.pl\/youth\/uncategorized\/a-day-at-wawel-castle\/","title":{"rendered":"A day at Wawel Castle"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>We all have had walks to Wawel Castle, some of us have visited some exhibitions, but<strong> none of us had been to the Royal Apartments yet!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the morning, we met at the office. It was such a sunny day that we decided to walk there. Apparently, it was not that easy, since <strong>the group split and some of us got lost along the way<\/strong>. I<strong>n the end, we all managed to gather again at the ticket office. Mission accomplished!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We had a <strong>guided tour<\/strong>, so we could discover many things. First of all, the castle was built in the 16th century by an Italian architect. It was created according to Italian style, and weather! To go from one room to another, there were roofed hallways. In fact, only external hallways were built. Not very practical in Poland, where the temperature can reach -20<strong>\u00b0<\/strong>C in Winter. During the centuries, original paintings were all stolen. Thanks to later donations, new pictures could be added again. Currently, there are mainly Dutch and Italian paintings. <strong>One of the most important areas was the silverware room. Here, one single silver tray could weigh even 600 g. We can just imagine the value of all that silver together.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For our group, it was very interesting to know something more about Krak\u00f3w and its history. <strong>We are really enjoying our very last days.
