When you grow up, one day you must face a decision: What do I want to do after school? What do I want my future to look like? Teenagers are in this intermediate state where they don’t know it yet, but on Friday, they had the chance to explore the possibilities.

With the event called “Targi wolontariatu i projektów organizacji pozarządowych- Młodzi w działaniu”, young people had the opportunity to see their options. IB-Polska also took part in the event to promote volunteering for the ESC. Kristina, Aneta, Maria, and Paula went there and talked with them about the possibility of going to a foreign country and working as a volunteer for the European Solidarity Corps. They all seemed quite interested.

In the workshop hosted by Aneta, with help from Paula, a group of 30 teenagers had the chance to discuss the advantages of volunteering—for themselves and for others. Furthermore, the kids shared their idea of the perfect volunteer by drawing them. They all actively participated in the workshop, which helped them reflect and think about their own future. Afterwards, Aneta showed them the different kinds of volunteer work, giving them valuable insight.

In the end, they were really invested, and we hope the preview of volunteering inspired a few of them to take part in the ESC.

Maybe we met future volunteers – we all hoped.
