Last Wednesday, we did our first group workshop in the Multicultural Centre. We spent around two hours thinking and discussing about our group rules.

First, each one of us created our own border with different shapes and ropes. As a result, everyone had a different size and form that represented our own personality and boundaries. After that, we split into two groups (the oceans and the islands) and we did two different activities. The first one was a nice approach from a participant from the ocean to an island person. We had to interact with each other while respecting the borders. On the other hand, the second activity was the complete opposite. The island person had to attack and disrespect their partner and their borders.

After that, our facilitator asked each one of us about our feelings and experiences and took notes of the most important words. With them, we created the group rules that we need to follow in order to have a good group cohesion.

But why are these group rules important? Because they act as a framework for our cooperative work and for a good dynamic at our shared meetings. Only by having these rules can we have the best events possible.
