Today, at the Waganowiche School in Krakow, I shared information about Georgia with my Polish students. I showed them a presentation and we talked about the location of Georgia, the capital, the traditions and culture, the Georgian language and the alphabet. It was really awesome, everybody was amazed — 45 minutes of excitement!
I talked about Georgia’s unique and sophisticated traditions and culture, its delicious cuisine, and specific regions like Samtskhe-Javakheti and Akhaltsikhe. I also introduced them to my hometown’s university and spoke about the famous cave city, Vardzia. I have to say, I was truly overwhelmed with emotion because the students were so interested in my presentation!

Additionally, I led an activity where students learned to write their names in Georgian. For example: ანა (Ana), კაროლინა (Karolina), ელა (Ela). I gave them printed paper and wrote their names for them, then asked them to try writing their names on their own. I was so surprised—they did an amazing job! I’m really proud of my class. At the end of the presentation, we watched videos about Georgia and at the end my students became interested ans asked a lot of questions that I was happy to answer.
I am glad that this day took place, it was a day full of emotions, because it has been 7 months since I arrived in Krakow, and it was so exciting for me to speak about Georgia. I miss it a lot. Finally, I would like to thank my supporter and translator, Ms. Karolina Jurczynska. Without her, this day would not have happened. Also a huge thanks to the school, children, my class tutors and teachers and Pani Ela—for everything!
