Hello,

My name is Anna and I’m 18 years old. I was born and grew up in the middle of the Alps in Austria.

My childhood has always been a big adventure, not only because I’m the eldest of three siblings, but also because of all the activities my surroundings have given me. In winter, I like to go skiing, tobogganing, or ice skating. In summer, we have a lot of small lakes where I can go swimming, as well as many beautiful places to go hiking.

But besides all the outdoor activities, deep down I’m actually an artist. Since I was 7 years old, I have been playing the flute, and for the past three years I have also been taking vocal lessons. In my free time, I like to draw just for myself. And one of the weirdest things I do as a hobby is cosplay.

What is that? In simple words, it means making a costume based on a character from a series, film, book, comic, or even a musical.

During a school internship, I realised that I want to work as a kindergarten teacher. My original plan was to start studying right after finishing school. However, during the time of my final exams, I missed the registration deadline, so I decided to do a volunteering year instead.

Back then, I knew two things:

  1. I want to work with children.
  2. It has to be in Poland.

But why Poland? That’s easy to answer: I’m half Polish, and I want to get to know more about my Polish side.

While looking for a suitable project, I found one from IB Polska in Krakow. For other people, Paris might be the city of love, but for me, it is Krakow.

Krakow is the city where my parents studied, got to know each other better, and got engaged. All the funny stories I have heard from my parents and their friends happened here, and now I want to make some new ones of my own.

I hope that I can learn a lot, gain new experiences, meet wonderful people, and create many beautiful new memories.

The only impossible journey is the one you never begun
