We had the chance to hear an amazing lecture about “How to use Canva?” by our ESC volunteer Nouran, who is a graphic designer! We learnt some useful techniques and what to pay attention to. After the workshop all of us designed a logo for our team, the IB Dragons!

Fonts and typography

They convey a strong message about our topic. Which sentences are more important, which ones we want to drag attention to.

Colour Theory

Colour theory encompasses a variety of design principles that apply to the context and use of colour. Design professionals and artists may use colour theory to create spaces and artwork that evoke a particular feeling within the viewer.

Design process:

First, research what other designers have created on this topic before. We observe what others are doing. We gather many ideas, drawing inspiration.

Second, brainstorming and mind mapping: Mind mapping is the concept of placing the main topic in the middle and creating subtopics around it.

Third, sketching: If designing a poster, outline rectangles and arrange elements.

Fourth, the goal: the goal is to determine the target audience and segmentation, as well as to establish the objective. Every design necessitates identifying a target audience.
