What did the winter break hiding for us?
Winter break for students in Poland varies by region, but for ours, it was from the 12th of February until the 25th.
At first, I was a little confused about what we would do during the two weeks we did not have to go to the schools: work in the office? Workshops around Kraków? It ended up being a great two weeks, and I’m going to tell you all a little bit about the first one.
New places.
On Monday we had a rest day at home, which we greatly appreciated, so when Tuesday came we were more than ready. We met in a really modern, big building, owned by the municipality of Kraków, where we discovered that’s where we would spend our winter break. The first day was mainly to talk about what we would do, show the space and more. It was really nice to catch up with the rest of the volunteers. Unfortunately, not all of them, as María, Keti and Seda were volunteering in their kindergartens and were not able to join us.
IB Dragons!
On Wednesday it was a fun day because we had to choose a name for our group. After a little fun activity Klaudyna prepared to get us to know each other a little bit better and choose a name that would represent us all. In the end, after much thought, we decided on: IB Dragons! 🐉 We also took some time to work on our ideas for TikTok videos. We ended up choosing two ideas that felt like they could work and could promote volunteering in IB Polska.
In home office.
Thursday was a work from home kind of day, since we needed time to prepare our workshops and the English lessons for the kids. It was really nice to be able to work on my things at my own time!
bOwLiNg TiMe!
Friday was the best day, since after meeting at 10 am as usual, we all went for our chosen activity: bowling! It had been a long time since I last went bowling and it was so much fun.
This was our first week of winter break, which was a nice change of atmosphere. The second one was even more intense..!
