One rainy evening – Was organized a meeting for our European Solidarity Corps mentors.
It was the first group meeting, where we could get to know each other, speak about everyone’s experience, and even more.

We start with an energizer to break the ice and help every mentor to get to know the rest of the group. These meetings help to feel like a part of a big group, having the same context.
After some “funny exercises,” our mentors shared expectations and needs about the upcoming meeting. The main part of the meeting – sharing their experience and approaches. When they felt – ready to go and start talking – took the floor.
At the end of this exercise, everyone from the group found out:

• “We are going through the same experience but using different approaches“;
• “We have the same differences as similarities. And Similarities – more – between mentor and volunteer“;
• “Identifying and explaining the role/ word “mentor“ not easy, because everyone is individual, got different experience, has different approaches due to needs of volunteer..”;

Mentors have a lot of different faces – the main idea – all these people are eager to help, to give their knowledge and support, and even more.
