After completing their volunteer work, our European Solidarity Corps volunteers attend workshops and events related to the project. Recently, they attended a communication workshop at MICET (Interactive Museum/Theater Education Center).

One of the most enjoyable times we’ve ever had! When you enter the theater building, 3-4 theater stages and areas reserved for workshops await you inside. There is also a museum section inside.

We were welcomed inside by the theater worker who proceeded to give us a tour and provide us with information about the theater. During our conversation, we discussed the various theatrical performances that are held in the building and how they are prepared. We were pleasantly surprised to learn that some of the plays are presented with English subtitles, making them accessible to non-Polish speakers. This is an excellent opportunity for people who want to enjoy the theater experience in a foreign language. We were excited about this possibility and would love to choose a play with English subtitles and watch it.

Following the briefing, we proceeded to the workshop area where we engaged in a fun game. The group was divided into two groups of three members each.

We were each given a costume and tasked with creating a story based on the costume, which we then drew on paper.

We exchanged papers with the other group and retold their story based on their drawings. It was a fantastic way to exercise our creativity and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

The theater worker informed us that he had all his acting students partake in this game as it was a valuable experience.

After the game, the theater worker gave us a tour of the museum downstairs where we enjoyed various interactive activities and had the chance to view the stage sets and costumes up close. We would like to talk about the interactive activities in a little more detail.

First of all, there was a set-up where you could create your own theater stage by placing the props.

There was also a DJ booth set where you could create new sounds using the music used in the plays. Bünyamin and Firdevs tried to create new musical notes using this set and they had a really enjoyable time.

Finally, we performed a theater activity that could be considered acting101 with the theater actors directing you. Besides all the splendor of the museum, the fact that we had the chance to send everything we played interactively to my e-mail address made this memory unforgettable for us!
