My name is Elien Van Gompel. I am from Leuven. That is a beautiful city in Belgium, 30 kms next to Brussels.

I live in the Flemish part in Belgium so my mother tongue is Dutch (or Flemish). But I’m also fluent in French. I learned it in school and then i practised it by doing an erasmus in Lyon, France and by living for a year in Brussels.

Besides that, I can speak English and now I’m learning Polish too. I am graduated as a speech-language pathologist.
I came to do volunteering because I needed a challenge and I wanted to figure out what I want to do in my life.

I’ve chosen Krakow in Poland because of the project. I’m volunteering for 6 months in 2 special schools for children and teenagers with autism spectrum disorder.

I am a scout, I like baking, reading, zumba, swimming, spikeball, singing and travelling. Oh, and I am 24 years old. My birthday is on the 31st of August!
