World Refugee Day: “Favoriten Children” movie screening
On the occasion of World Refugee Day, which we celebrated on June 20, together with IOM Poland and our friends at the Paradox Cinema, we organised a screening of the film “Favoriten Children” directed by award-winning Austrian filmmaker Ruth Beckermann.
The film tells the story of one of the multicultural classes in the largest primary school in Vienna. From the perspective of the youngest protagonists, viewers had a chance to look at contemporary Europe, where diversity is becoming the norm, and education and integration present both a real challenge and an opportunity. The film addressed themes close to our mission: identity, belonging, growing up in a multicultural society, and rebuilding a sense of home.
Thank you to everyone who joined us that evening!
