Meeting with Agnieszka Foryś at the Polish Language Café
Charismatic Agnieszka Foryś from Blisko tekstu once again filled the Multicultural Centre with literature during the latest meeting of the Polish Language Café.
This time, we dove into the work of one of the most intriguing Polish writers – Witold Gombrowicz, who would have turned 121 on August 4th. We discussed what “gęba,” “pupa,” and “łydka” meant for Gombrowicz – and what they might mean for us today. The conversation was reflective, fun, and at times provocative – just as a meeting with Gombrowicz’s work should be!
Thank you to everyone who joined us – for your openness, great energy, and engaging conversations! And to Agnieszka – for leading the session with passion and humour.
See you at the next Polish Language Café!
