European Solidarity Corps projects are a great opportunity, but not everybody knows about these volunteering chances abroad. Our group was enthusiastic to organise a workshop to present the programme to youngsters. It took place at Internationaler Bund Polska’s office in Tychy. Here, Anja and Bartek, who work at the office in Tychy, welcomed us.

Aytakin, Firas, Ambra and Christina prepared activities and games, while our coordinator Aneta supported our group and gave the participants all the technical pieces of information on the European Solidarity Corps. We had an interesting debate on active and global citizenship, and our participants were very active. Most of them were teenagers, and it was very motivating to see them so committed. We also prepared activities on the topic of intercultural communication. We talked about the concept of stereotype with Christina, while with the game “Mouse/Man” we could underline how there are different perspectives and points of views. So, reality can be perceived in different ways according to the culture, and there is not necessarily a wrong or right vision. We also received questions about the European Solidarity Corps programme and we hope that some of the participants will apply for a project in the future.

It was a great team work and we were delighted to have such young participants. After this meeting, we felt far more optimistic towards the future!
