Last Friday, the 28th of November, the Christmas fair in Krakow started, and Maria and I went there in the afternoon.

On our way there, we passed a few crèches (“szopki”), which, according to Aneta, are a handcrafted Christmas tradition. Each year, there is a competition for these wooden and aluminum-foiled houses, which are presented around the city center at the beginning of December.

Surrounded by the wonderful smell of food like soup or zapiekanka, we got into the Christmas mood and crossed the main square. That was extremely hard because of the many people, especially tourists, who also didn’t miss the chance to see Krakow’s beautiful fair.

We were impressed by the handcrafted gifts and colorful lights, which got us in the mood for the upcoming season.
