Last Sunday our group of European Solidarity Corps volunteers joined Family Day, an event dedicated to families and kids at Park Jordana, here in Krakow. As Internationaler Bund Polska, we proposed different activities.

Neamat, Mariam and Khatia use different alphabets when they write in their mother tongues. They could write names of kids and people passing by could using their alphabets which are so peculiar for people who are used to the Latin alphabet. Neamat uses Arabic, while Mariam and Khatia use the Georgian alphabet.

Then, we proposed different kinds of games, such as Twister. Kids could also colour the most famous cartoon characters in our countries. It was also possible to play with a world map. Kids and parents mark with different colours the country of origin, the favourite visited place and the dream destination. Let’s hope that the pandemic won’t be so dangerous any more and that people will be able to plan their dream trip very soon!

Within the group, there are also volunteers with an artistic attitude. Thanks to them, the kids had a really great surprise, because they could get their face painted. So, thanks to Aytakin, Emma, Christina, Büşra and Antonia.

After these two years of pandemic, it is very nice to join such events and finally meet people! We were also lucky, because the weather was sunny for most of the day and not even a drop of rain fell on our heads. So, this time Krakow’s weather helped us!
