Khatia, ESC volunteer from Georgia

Hello! I’m Khatia, from Georgia. I work at Szafa Dobra every Thursday and I have a little conversation with Ukrainian people. To be honest, it’s hard for me to see a lot of people who don’t have  a house anymore, clothes, whose husband or brother or dad is at war. They don’t know if they will ever meet again, or not.

On  08.08.2008, Russia started an aggressive war against Georgia. The hot spot was the city of Gori. Everything was happening in front of me and now every bad feeling and every bad memories come back to my mind. I feel really bad. I also remember people helping us. I know that a lot of Ukrainian soldiers actually did it. Not only soldiers, but the president himself. I feel that I have to help them because of the past and because of this unfair aggression

Szafa Dobra is the place where Ukrainians can get any kind of clothes absolutely for  free. There, it’s possible for Ukrainian people to find everything they need to feel comfortable. Even a corner for kids, where they can play, draw, make puzzles and have fun.

ESC volunteers from IB Polska are going there once a week to help. It’s really nice to help people who need your help. It’s a pleasure for me to hear from them that they love Georgia and Georgian people.
